unadulterated 45th GB love )

I have the craziest seatmates ever!

Dawn: -humming California Gurls-
Joelle: OMG is that California Gurls?
Dawn: Uh-huh.
Joelle: That's my theme song!
Dawn: Theme song of...?
Joelle: My life.

And Andrea wrote me 6 IFD notes during CLE - 5 addressed to "Chicken Nut Bread" and 1 addressed to "Joetherella" xD Plus ten thousand to so many other people such that I had to keep passing them around, making sheepish faces at Rachel and getting exasperated faces back >< I lost our Chinese Pop Singers game today ): But after holding out for almost an hour, I am proud to say.

Love you guys for making my lessons so much more bearable :D

For far too long, I've been taking Shirim for granted, ever since I joined on a whim nearly two years back. Most Wednesdays it was just "okay, time for Shirim now, what shall we do today?" But today, amidst the waiting and watching in awe, plus the high-strung emotions, it finally struck me that Shirim has given me a lot.

I haven't been for a lot of outings, really I haven't. And perhaps it's hindered my ability to bond with some of the other Shirimers. But even without the lunches and sleepovers and Annual Beach Volleyball Tournaments (yeah, I made the last one up), I've still gained experiences that would never have sprung up otherwise.

I wouldn't have been able to say that I can play an instrument, because I didn't want to play a keyboard with two hands when I was 5. (I guess now I can, sort of, but then again not really, if you see what I mean. Which of course you don't.) I wouldn't ever have represented the school in a competition, because the school believes in ~Meritocracy~ and ~Dumping Grounds~ no matter how they try to pat your back and tell you dumping grounds don't exist. And I wouldn't have gotten to know more people in 45th, which did help me to break out of the little group that I was trying to wriggle out of in the later part of Sec 1, and in Sec 2. Sort of.

So I think it was God's Will that I fell sick yesterday instead of today. The agony of missing out on The Last Comp would probably have killed me, and then no more PBB and June camp and GB Day and Handover and Farewell. Well not no more per se, but no more for me. Boo hiss.

Apart from all the emotions that should be inspiring me to write a cheena essay right now, I'm so thankful we didn't turn out to be this year's cannon fodder. Seriously though, fourth joint-third is MINDBLOWINGLY AWESOME. Does anyone know who took videos of our performances? Please say someone did >< Oh and the drummers managed to meet the top half target :D Yup so yay good job everybody, I don't think I could have asked for a better Last Comp :D Bring Shirim back to pipe comp again next year, Future Ringleader!

P.S. We should have a morning announcement about the 3rd Annual Singapore-Southeast Asian Pipe Band Championships!

Songs I wish to lead/hear being led at GB worship before I handover

1. Complete by Parachute Band (still love this song as much as I did when I first heard it last year, and it would be great if someone else would lead this one!)
2. Beautiful Saviour by Planetshakers (I really want to lead this one but with the New Initiative - to be officially revealed on Monday - I couldn't really fit it in D:)

-list may expand in time to come-

Please?

There's actually a reason for my title, and the reason being tomorrow's the match against Arsenal, and Arsenal -> Gunners -> flames, and You'll Never Walk Alone, and all that jazz.

See, even my icon matches.

Come to think of it, it's time to hunt for new icons.

Out of sheer curiosity, I went to do the Colorwize test, and sad to say, I do not trust it much. Mostly because I'm pretty sure I hardly picked the icky yellowgreen colour, and they ranked it my second favourite colour. I don't even get credited with taste nowadays >: See cut for the Top 40 Jobs Countup, plus a short critique:

presenting... a list )

I have a post-trip thoughts post due, which I will do when I'm bored enough to sit down and collect my thoughts before churning them out in cryptic statements, something you all know I love to do.

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

-Colossians 4:5-6

I will take control of myself and press on.

#127 (I give up luh.)

Am currently in the midst of writing The Epic Lit PT Poem. At least, that's what I named the dumb document. Must have been half-asleep or too awake to be human. The Poem is 37 lines long as of now. Its working title is Beyond but I'm thinking of changing it to Mama just because. Yeah okay I just needed to get that out of my system :\

Sophie left for Luxembourg today. It's a shame I didn't manage to send her off in the end due to circumstances, but I wish her all the best. Hopefully she could visit. Or something.

Yesterday Huihui alerted me as to how much I look like a freak - sorry, Taylor Swift fan on FB. No offence to those who are her fans, but I wouldn't say I actually am one of them. Yeah, she has some nice songs but I don't go listening to her songs on loop and testing my knowledge on her lyrics. As always, I blame my sister.

Had terrible dreams last night. I'm not entirely sure if they were separate but one part involved a rickety lift. Gosh I hate it when lifts appear in my dream. They're always weird ones too, like last night's one which went up to the 967th floor (though it sure didn't feel like it - probably some joker decided to re-label the buttons), and the one which stopped at random floors and the one which was a train.

Finally, source-based questions are the bane of my existence.

#125 (Yay. Happy.)

Hello my friends. It has been too long since my last public post. Friends, on the other hand, got epic spammed during KillerWeek which wasn't actually too killer, now that I think about it. But no, I'm not suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

My display name one or two days back was "Joederella - Failure to launch Lit PT". The good news is, I've launched it! Well, I've picked out my two poems, including the specific extract from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (seriously). The bad news is, I haven't gone beyond including the two poems and writing the mandatory introductory paragraph plus a sentence on Kubla Khan. I am not a happy Lit student right now. Well, there's always tomorrow, but then after that there's only Wednesday, and then it's Submission of Lit PT Part One. Sei la.

Trivially, Stalker Fan Check tells me I only have about 9 or 10 "fans", so I take that as pretty good news. Also, the Bonju avatar has been cracked! Am trying to get that silly book but naturally, prices have been crazily jacked up so maybe I should just wait until the whole fever dies down. In February or something.

It's funny how I often end up updating about things which aren't actually related to my life at all, like Premier League or World Cup or Nora Torres Domínguez. Oh and guess what? I'm going to do it again. Only 4 weeks more to The Amazing Race 15 :DDD That is, if MediaCorp decides to air the season simulcast, etc. Which they totally should, considering it should be school hols by the time the season ends = can catch season finale simulcast from USA, whoo! Okay I'm rambling. I know I'm rambling. But TAR makes me happy (:

I quite like the semicolon. It is cute. And it appears twice in today's title ^^ I feel like going all Sesame Street and saying, "Today's title was brought to you today by The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge." Okay, so here goes.

Today's title was brought to you today by The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Haha, cheap thrills!

(Come on, there's got to be a mood called 'down' or 'flat' or something to that effect.)

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that Math PPA was a happy thing and Bio PPA was also a relatively happy thing and I hope English PPA was a happy thing too or I will be sad but no I will not repeat it for the cheap thrill (:

#119 (9/11 D:)

To begin, Happy Birthday Singapore! (I always say you have lousy national colours but not much you can do about that, eh.)

Elyssa, when you see this, please PM me! I have something to ask you but [fire]walls have ears. Haha okay not funny. Aiyah pictures wtp logs wtp Bio wtp secrets wtp.

I think we have to get cracking on Film asap. I need to edit the timeline! And we have to start casting. If you love the Shutterbyes (Elyssa Hannah Joelle), please ask us what roles we need to fill for our short film, and express some interest because it's the courteous thing to do {:

Study plans don't work very well when life throws a spanner in the works. And lemons. I don't even like lemonade. Not much. But stuff the English studying, I will focus and finish logs today. But that leaves me with zilch time to do thing hunting. Levites Batch '10! Where's the spirit? Where's the standard? Hohoho.

Om nom nom talk to me people.
